(2010-12-03) Marnabrasa (part of the Docks group) opened with a bang and it seems that the whole world was invited to the grand opening except QQ, so I went along for dinner a week later to see what the fuss was all about.
The inside restaurant had obviously had a lot of money spent on the red and white décor and stylish crockery, cutlery and glassware, but an irritation was menus in Portuguese only. The TV’s on the wall were very much out of place and a distraction.
The outside dining area was more casual and laid back than inside. Prices are steep. With 4 samoosas or rissois for 140Mt and a pão and butter 40Mt, hang onto your wallet! We were charged for bread and butter even though we didn’t all eat it so check your bill.
Strangely there was no salt or pepper on the tables.
The salad buffet on the menu was not available, and unforgivably, there was no tonic available, and the bottle of Frontera wine we ordered was also out of stock.
Wine selection is boring with the same old suspects with very high markups.
There are a lot of fish and seafood dishes on the menu, but not many meat dishes and only two salads. Grilled bacalhau is 790Mt and the roast chicken 350Mt.
I shared a cataplana, a Portuguese seafood stew, served with rice, which was just like seafood rice without the rice being cooked in the stew.
Food was ordinary and not outstanding.

From: Ambiance I could see the anger of promoters by the attack to the QQ. I follow her for long time though I always had a different experience thanking from her. I love the ambiance of the Marnabraza, even the food. But the toilet it was simply the dirtiest in Maputo. It was stinking from far enough you to find the toilet. No water, tissue papers. Might be this comment helps to improves it. 2013-01-06
From: PG We have to be extremely careful in anonymous QQ\'s and all other. Yes there are unexceptable things that happen and have to be known about, on the other hand what CREDIBILITY does QQ have. How do we know that ALL IS TRUE...or could you be favouring other third parties that you are better friends with...cut the anonymous bit if you want to be taken seriously...after a meal and payed the check call the manager and let them know what experience you had and then yes..there is a fundament in what you are saying..otherwise...STAY HOME AND COOK !!! ITS CHEAPER... 2012-07-06
From: food poison Went there last night...and today (Friday) i had to skip work as i got big stomach aches and diarrhoea. Had the calamari also...should have read this before going there... 2011-10-14
From: not satisfied customer I went there twice and once tried the calamari wich was awful, complained and was happy to hear i was getting a second dish free, this time i went for the fish that was wonderfull...
Like all restaurants you must know what dishes to order...AVOID the calamari here..Go for the fishes 2011-10-14
From: anonymous I have been in the food and beverage industry for many years and I can tell you that QQ knows what she is talking about. She has criticized me to and to be frank she was right. I've been to Marnabraza on a few occations and will continue supporting Pedro but he certanly has a lot of work ahead of him.

From: DD I would love to know what makes this self-proclaimed food critic qualified? Is it just the fact that she pays her own bill? She brings no valuable insight about the establishments she visits neither for the readers nor the owners and she obviously has no idea of the costs involving in running a restaurant because almost everything seems to be too expensive for her. I would suggest she stays at home and stop being "helpful". 2010-12-24
